The all new ORBIWELD TP series completely unique in design, making it very versatile. Locating the motor inside the main housing, results in ORBIWELD TP series being very compact in design and the revolutionary design of the drive system makes large & bulky Drive mechanisms a thing of the past.

The clamping mechanism and jaws move with a parallel motion and results in a secure clamping of the weld head with a large clamping cross section. The clamping range of the jaws can be infinitely adjusted through the diameter range of the head by rotation of a single knob.

All ORBIWELD TP weld heads are supplied with hardened steel clamp jaws provide optimal clamping efficiency. Alternatively stainless steel clamp jaws can be supplied.

A swiveling TIG torch provides the capability for fillet welds or pulled-T joint.

With the models TP 400 / 600 and 1000 the TIG torch is mounted on a precision slide to give precise, fine control of the electrode during welding. The wire tip can be also adjusted to ensure the wire is fed into the center of the weld pool.

An optional on-board wire feed unit is available for the ORBIWELD TP 400, 600 and 1000 weld heads. The wire feeder is located close to the welding torch which ensures a responsive wire feeding which is synchronized with the pulsing of the welding current. This gives much better control of the weld pool then systems which have to push or pull the wire form a remote, separate wire feeder over long distances, thus not allowing responsive precise synchronization with the current pulses. for field applications the compact wire feeder on the weld head is more comfortable than a separate, heavy wire feeder.

Because of the compact design of the ORBIWELD TP 250 the KD 4, remote wire feed unit is used. The KD 4 is housed in a robust ABS case which is supplied with a shoulder strap for easy and comfortable transportation for the operator. The KD 4 has short teflon liner which guides the wire to the weld head with minimal back-lash for trouble-free wire feeding.

The KD 4 wire feed units accommodates standard D100 wire spools and weighs less than 2 kg when no wire is loaded.
