Hose Fittings

Couplings, Valves and Plugs – Just some of The Fittings You Need for A Secure Hose Connection

Hose fittings are used to connect hoses to other hose sections and equipment, most hose fittings are used to connect a hose, normally to a tap connector, join 2 pieces of hose together to provide extra length or to divide a hose in two opposite directions.

Hose fittings are also known as hose connectors, couplings or adaptors and are designed to provide a secure and leak-proof connection.

Hose fittings come in a variety of different materials including steel, brass, plastic, stainless steel and aluminium. The fitting used will depend on what the hose is being used for and what it is connected to. The gender of a hose fitting is important and are labelled as a male or female hose fitting where the male half fits inside the female half to create the complete coupling. Couplings also have ‘threads’ on them, which allow couplings to connect to each other securely.
